Setting up Laravel Cloud
Take your system live on your own account — step by step, every value ready to copy
Your Stellify-built system lives in your own GitHub repository as a standard Laravel application. Laravel Cloud is the framework team's own hosting platform, and this guide walks you through connecting the two. You'll sign up directly with Laravel Cloud, so the account, the hosting and the data are all yours — hosting is billed directly by Laravel Cloud, on their published pricing.
Signed-in customers see their own values below, ready to copy. The steps work the same either way.
1. Create a Laravel Cloud account
Go to cloud.laravel.com/sign-up and create an account. Sign up with the same GitHub account that holds your Stellify repository — it makes the next step one click.
2. Connect GitHub and select your repository
When Laravel Cloud asks for a repository, authorise GitHub access and pick the repository Stellify synced your system to. If you're not sure of its name, it's shown on your plan page and in the email you received when your system was synced.
3. Name the app and choose a region
Give the app a name you'll recognise and pick the region closest to your customers — for UK businesses, choose a UK or EU region so your data stays close to home.
4. Paste the build command
In the app's build settings, use:
composer install --no-dev && npm run build
5. Paste the deploy command
In the deploy settings, use:
php artisan migrate --force
This sets up and updates your database tables automatically on every deploy.
6. Add a database
On the app's canvas, click to add a database and attach it to your app. Laravel Cloud fills in the database connection settings for you — you don't need to copy anything for this step.
7. Paste the environment variables
In the app's environment settings, add each of these. Sign in to see your own values filled in; the placeholders below show the shape.
APP_NAME="Your System Name"
The name shown in emails and page titles.
APP_KEY=base64:8pOxYL3+7/lpV59jMK5u2WREW5eSlJao4BM4lmacw6Q=
Encrypts your sessions and data. Generated for you — copy it once and keep it safe.
APP_ENV=production
Tells the system it's live, not in testing.
APP_DEBUG=false
Keeps technical error detail hidden from visitors.
APP_URL=https://your-app.laravel.cloud
Your system's address — update it if you add your own domain in step 9.
8. Deploy
Click deploy. Laravel Cloud builds the app, runs the deploy command and gives you a live URL — usually in under a minute. Open it and you're looking at your system.
9. Add a custom domain (optional)
In the app's domain settings you can attach your own domain (like app.yourbusiness.co.uk). Laravel Cloud shows the DNS record to add with your domain provider and handles the security certificate automatically. Remember to update APP_URL to match.
Keeping it updated
When Stellify syncs a change or a module update to your repository — always on demand, never automatically — Laravel Cloud deploys it to your live system.
If deploys don't start on their own after a sync, check that automatic deploys are enabled in your app's settings on Laravel Cloud (look for "deploy on push" against the connected branch) and turn them on.
